Some Dope Knowledge
What do we really know?
For most of my early days I didn't care about what I didn’t know about Marijuana. It was simply about feeling it, until choice arrived in the form of three words; Indica, Sativa and Hybrid. They confused me for a long time. No one really had an explanation that stuck in my brain until I was handed a visual representation.
It began with the word Indica. “In the couch, someone laughed.” Now I had a thread to follow. Okay that explains a feeling I recognize, so then I thought if, Indica represents; in the couch, naturally then Sativa means, out of the couch. Hybrid super easy, you’re in and out of the couch. Ha, I’m brilliant.
Nowadays Hybridization and naming has become quite the ambitious endeavour. There is a concern that a defined difference in the strains is getting harder and harder to ‘feel.’
Most everyone has had this after toke conversation at least once; “Is this Indica or Sativa... probably a Hybrid. It’s pretty good though.” After a few minutes, it begins again. “I think this is Sativa dominant, or wait maybe Indica. Oh, I don’t know pass the joint.” Haha.
Since knowledge is power our mission is to search out and share all things relevant to the ever expanding world of Marijuana and it’s relationship to your mind, body and spirit.
More recently the cannabis industry has been turning away from the usual terms of; “strain, indica, sativa, and hybrid.” instead classifying them according to their chemical varieties or, “chemovars” for short. You may be seeing this “Type” classification becoming more the norm.
Type I: high THC
Type II: THC/CBD combined
Type III: high CBD
